    It basically repeats what we have known for three years, that there are three recordings of detainee interrogations still in existence (of bin al-Shibh’s interrogations, this was revealed in the autumn of 2007 in a filing to the Moussaoui court and evidently triggered the CIA tapes destruction scandal). However, now it says they were made in Morocco, whereas I had previously thought they must have been from Pakistan.

  2. This is completely fascinating:

    It’s a cable about the origins of the Taliban that Erik found at the national archives. I’d never heard the details about Mullah Omar before.
